The Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Kunming participated in the Chinese Lunar New Year Festival organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Yunnan Provincial People’s Government on 11 February 2026. During the event, Myanmar culture was showcased alongside international cultural exhibition pavilions.
At the Myanmar cultural pavilion, traditional Myanmar handicrafts were displayed. Guests attending the event were also welcomed and served with traditional Myanmar tea.
In addition, Consulates-General of other countries based in Kunming exhibited cultural and artistic items representing their respective countries and served traditional foods to guests.
The inclusion of international cultural exhibition pavilions at the Chinese Lunar New Year Festival aimed to further strengthen friendship and cooperation between Yunnan Province and the Consulates-General based in Kunming, as well as to promote cultural exchanges among the peoples.
The ceremony was attended by H.E Mr. Xu Hao, Vice Governor of the Yunnan Provincial People’s Government, officials from the Yunnan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Consuls-General based in Kunming, and invited guests.
