Myanmar Consul-General Attends Regional Seminar: “India’s Neighbourhood Policy; Way Ahead” in Kolkata

Consul-General of the Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Kolkata, accompanied by the Economic Attaché, participated and delivered a special address as a guest of honour at the “Economic Growth and Connectivity” session of the regional seminar titled “India’s Neighbourhood Policy: The Way Ahead.” The event, jointly organized by the Indian Federation of UN Associations, New Delhi (Ifuna) and the West Bengal Federation of United Nations Associations (Webfuna), was held at Phoenix Hall, Saturday Club, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, on February 3, 2026, at 2:30 PM.

The regional seminar was held in participation of Ambassador Anil Trigunayat, IFS (Retd.), former Ambassador to Jordan, Libya and Malta; Mr. Sitaram Sharma, Chairman of the Indian Federation of UN Associations & West Bengal Federation of UN Associations; First Secretary of the Deputy High Commission for the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Kolkata; speaker and representatives of TIPS Research Centre and Think Tank; Observer Research Foundation (ORF); University representatives from New Delhi and Kolkata and invited guests as well as media fraternity.

During the session, the Consul-General engaged with the audience by responding to questions and participating in discussions regarding the topics presented.
