A total of 27 Myanmar natioinals – 24 housed at the Foreigners Detention Centre and 3 at the Women Foreigners Detention Centre in Imphal, Manipur State of India – were repatriated to Myanmar on 4th February 2026.
They were transported from Manipur to Moreh with the arrangement of the India Government and handed over to the local authorities in Tamu, Myanmar via the International Border Entry Gate along the Myanmar-India border. Throughout the process, the Embassy of Myanmar in New Delhi coordinated with the relevant local authorities in Manipur State through the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India.
