Chargé d'affaires a.i. / Ambassador of Myanmar to Vietnam H.E. U Wai Linn received H.E. Mr. Tshering W. Sherpa, newly appointed India Ambassador to Vietnam on 5 February 2026 at 10:00 hrs at the Myanmar Embassy in Hanoi.
During the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the further promotion of constructive and substantive cooperation between the two embassies in Hanoi while contributing to the existing friendly relations between Myanmar and India. They reaffirmed the importance of friendly engagements between the two countries as close neighbours and also exchanged views on continued collaboration under the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Moreover, H.E. U Wai Linn briefed the India Ambassador recent developments in Myanmar including the successful completion of the general elections in Myanmar.
