Ambassador of Myanmar to the Republic of Korea H.E. U Thant Sin, attended the opening ceremony of the Seoul ASEAN Hall, organized by the ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC), held at the Korea Press Centre in Seoul on the occasion of ASEAN Day, which fell on 8 August 2025. The ceremony was graced by the presence of H.E. Kim Hwang Sik, Former Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea; H.E. Kim Jina, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Republic of Korea; H.E. Kim Jae-shin, Secretary General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre; Ambassadors and Heads of Missions from ASEAN Member States in Seoul; and distinguished guests from various sectors. The event was commenced with welcoming remarks by H.E. Kim Jae-shin, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre. It was followed by congratulatory remarks from H.E. Kim Jina, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, and H.E. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand, current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Seoul. In their addresses, the speakers underscored that the establishment of Seoul ASEAN Hall will foster deeper cultural exchange and enhance mutual understanding between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea. They also expressed sincere appreciations to the Ambassadors of ASEAN countries in Seoul for their close collaboration with the AKC to successfully open the Seoul ASEAN Hall. Following their remarks, Myanmar Ambassador participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially inaugurate the Hall with other attending Heads of ASEAN Missions, and followed by a commemorative group photo session. Afterwards, Myanmar Ambassador toured the exhibition gallery along with other ASEAN Ambassadors. The gallery features traditional cultural artifacts contributed by ASEAN embassies, as well as special photo collection showcasing colorful variety of fruits and vegetables from both the Republic of Korea and ASEAN countries. These items were provided in coordination with the AKC in advance of the exhibition. The exhibition aims to promote deepen mutual understanding and appreciation of the rich and diverse cultural heritage shared between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea.
