On 19 August 2025, in commemoration of the 58th ASEAN Day, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil H.E. Mr. Mauro Luiz Iecker Vieira hosted a luncheon for the Ambassadors and Chargés d’Affaires of ASEAN Embassies in Brasília, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil. H.E. U Aung Kyaw Zan, Ambassador of Myanmar to Brazil attended the luncheon together with other ASEAN Heads of Missions, the Secretary-General/Deputy Foreign Minister of Brazil Ambassador Maria Laura da Rocha, the Secretary for Asia and the Pacific, the Secretary for Commerce, Science, Technology, Innovation and Culture, the Secretary for Economic and Financial Affairs from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Deputies from the Brazil–ASEAN Parliamentary Front, the Special Envoy for ASEAN and officials from the Special Advisory Office of the President of the Republic and the Brazilian Cooperation Agency. In his opening remarks, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Brazil’s commitment as a Sectoral Dialogue Partner of ASEAN and expressed Brazil’s readiness to further promote relations and cooperation with ASEAN member states. He also conveyed his intention to undertake future visits to ASEAN countries. Speaking on behalf of the ASEAN Heads of Mission, H.E. Mr. Prak Nguon Hong the Ambassador of Cambodia to Brazil, Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Brasília, expressed sincere appreciation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for his warm hospitality. He underscored the ASEAN Committee’s commitment to working closely with the Government of Brazil to further strengthen the friendly relations and cooperation between Brazil and ASEAN. After the luncheon, the Foreign Minister, ASEAN Heads of Mission, and Brazilian Government officials participated in an official photo session.
