ASEAN-Vienna Committee Chair Ambassador U Min Thein delivers opening remarks at the ASEAN Day Event (20-08-2025)

Myanmar Ambassador and Permanent Representative U Min Thein, in his capacity as Chair of the ASEAN-Vienna Committee, delivered the opening remarks at the commemorative event of the 58th Anniversary of ASEAN Day, organized by the ASEAN-Vienna Committee on 20 August 2025 at the Vienna International Centre in Austria. At the ceremony, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Malaysia, representing the current ASEAN Chair delivered remarks, followed by a video presentation of the ASEAN Day speech by the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Then, Ambassador Hannah Liko, Head of Political Affairs of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria, as well as representatives of the United Nations Office in Vienna (UNOV)/ the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) also delivered remarks. The event was attended by senior officials from the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria, and United Nations offices and other international organizations, Ambassadors/Permanent Representatives and their representatives based in Vienna, and invited guests. ASEAN Embassies and Permanent Missions in Vienna showcased a national costume show and served traditional cuisines.
