H.E. Daw Marlar Than Htaik, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Sri Lanka, attended the State Ceremony commemorating the 78th Independence Day of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, at Independence Square, Colombo in the morning of 4 February 2026. At the ceremony, Hon. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, President of Sri Lanka, hoisted the National Flag and delivered an address. In the evening, H.E. Daw Marlar Than Htaik attended a dinner hosted by Hon. Vijitha Herath, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of Sri Lanka, at the Hotel Cinnamon Grand, Colombo.
