On September 4, 2024, a study tour group from the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait (ACK) led by the Myanmar Embassy in Kuwait as the current chair of the ACK visited the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). The delegation, comprising ASEAN Ambassadors/Heads of Mission and diplomats from the embassies of Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Lao PDR, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam, was warmly welcomed by KOC’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer and other senior officials.
During the visit, the KOC officials provided a comprehensive briefing on the company’s operations. The current Chairman of the ACK, Myanmar Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. U Chan Aye, extended his heartfelt thanks to KOC for their hospitality and exchanged tokens of appreciation with the host. The study tour also included a visit to the Ahmad Al-Jaber Oil & Gas Exhibition, where the ASEAN delegation was shown the advancements in Kuwait’s oil and gas production.
As a state-owned enterprise that contributes 95% of Kuwait’s total income, KOC’s significance was evident to the visiting delegates. The tour provided an opportunity for ASEAN embassies and KOC to discuss future cooperation.
