The Myanmar Embassy and the Office of Myanmar Military, Naval, and Air Attaché in Hanoi successfully co-hosted a reception to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Armed Forces Day of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at the Melia Hotel in Hanoi, from 1830 hrs to 2030 hrs on 27 March 2026.
The event was graced by around 150 distinguished guests including the presence of H.E. Lieutenant General Nguyen Ba Luc, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the People’s Army of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam as the Chief Guest, along with the officials from Vietnam government agencies including the Ministry of National Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors and Chargés d’ Affaires, Diplomats, and Defense Attachés from the ASEAN and other diplomatic missions in Hanoi, Chairman and Deputy Chairpersons of the Viet Nam-Myanmar Friendship Association, Vietnamese Business Community, Myanmar students and Myanmar Community in Vietnam.
During the reception, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i./ Ambassador of Myanmar to Viet Nam H.E. U Wai Linn welcomed the guests, and the event was commenced by respecting and saluting the national flags of Myanmar and Vietnam, which was followed by the remarks from the Myanmar Military, Naval, and Air Attaché Brigadier General Myint Htun Naing and H.E. Lieutenant General Nguyen Ba Luc, both reflecting the further enhancement of the traditional security and defence ties and cooperation between the two countries.
At the reception, the guests enjoyed a buffet dinner featuring Myanmar traditional cuisines and delicacies while video clips commemorating the Myanmar Armed Forces Day were presented.
