In commemoration of the 58th ASEAN Day, a Roundtable Discussion on “ASEAN and Pakistan: Partners in Peace, Progress and Regional Prosperity” was jointly organized by the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI) led by Myanmar Ambassador U Wunna Han as its Chair, the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan at the Institute of Strategic Studies in Islamabadon on August 7, 2025. H.E. Mr. Imran Ahmed Siddiqi, Additional Foreign Secretary for Asia-Pacific, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the ceremony as a Chief Guest. The event was also attended by ASEAN ambassadors, ambassadors of Pakistan embassies in ASEAN countries, and other invited guests. At the ceremony, a special video message from H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN was presented. Myanmar Ambassador U Wunna Han delivered opening remarks on behalf of ACI, together with Director General of ISSI, Ambassador Sohail Mahmood. ASEAN Heads of Missions, Additional Foreign Secretary Ambassador Imran Saddiqi and Pakistani Ambassadors in ASEAN countries shared their perspectives on the historical background of ASEAN, its achievements over the past 58 years, future prospects and ways to further strengthen the ASEAN-Pakistan Sectoral Dialogue partnership and cooperation.
