H.E. U Aung Myo Myint, Permanent Representative of Myanmar to ASEAN, witnessed the Signing Ceremony for USD 1 million Cash Assistance Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the AHA Centre, which was held at the ASEAN Secretariat on 12 November 2025.
According to the agreement, China will provide US$1 million (approximately RMB 7.3 million) to support recovery efforts in Myanmar, including the reconstruction of schools for communities affected by the M7.7 magnitude Mandalay Earthquake in March 2025. The agreement was signed by H.E. Hou Yanqi, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to ASEAN and Mr. Lee Yam Ming, Executive Director of the AHA Centre.
The ceremony was also witnessed by Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hour, the Permanent Representatives of ASEAN Member States and the representatives from ASEAN Secretariat, the AHA Centre as well as the Chinese Mission to ASEAN.
