The Myanmar Embassy in Washington, D.C. organized an event entitled “A Touch of Myanmar Heritage: Making Lacquer Bead Necklaces & Bracelets”, introducing lacquerware, a traditional and cultural heritage of Myanmar on 12 September 2025 at the Embassy as part of the activities of the ASEAN Spouses’ Circle (ASC). Spouses of Ambassadors, diplomats from ASEAN Embassies in Washington, D.C., members of ASEAN Spouses’ Circle (ASC) and invited guests were present at the event.
During the event, the Myanmar Embassy displayed lacquerware items, gave a presentation on Myanmar lacquerware and a demonstration on making lacquer bead necklaces and bracelets. Afterwards, the guests were entertained with music on “Myanmar Pattala” and served with Myanmar traditional food and delicacies.
