The Myanmar delegation led by H.E. Daw Ei Ei Tin, Ambassador/Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Manila, attended the ASEAN Tourism Ministers’ Retreat held on 29 September 2026 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila, Philippines.
The ASEAN Tourism Ministers’ Retreat was chaired by H.E. Ms. Verna Buensuceso, Undersecretary of the Department of Tourism of the Philippines, and attended by Ministers and Deputy Ministers responsible for tourism affairs, delegates from ASEAN Member States, as well as the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN and his delegation.
During the Retreat, the Meeting discussed matters related to the development of the ASEAN Sustainable and Resilient Tourism Investment Outlook, underscoring the importance of mobilising quality and sustainable investment to strengthen tourism infrastructure, enhance the resilience of tourism destinations, and promote greater competitiveness across the ASEAN region.
The ASEAN Tourism Ministers’ Retreat was held in conjunction with the ASEAN Tourism Investment Showcase, where participating ASEAN Member States and relevant stakeholders exchanged views and showcased opportunities for investment in the region’s tourism sector.
