The 36th Hong Kong Book Fair organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 15 to 21 July 2026. At the World of Art & Culture Pavilion of the Book Fair, Myanmar Consulate General in Hong Kong participated with an exhibition booth.
The opening ceremony of the Book Fair took place on 15 July 2026 and Myanmar Consul General Ms. Phoo Pwint Ko Ko attended. At the ceremony, Professor Frederick Ma, Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), delivered the welcoming remarks, followed by the opening remarks from The Hon. Mr. Cheuk Wing-hing, Acting Chief Secretary of the Hong Kong SAR Government and they officially inaugurated the Book Fair together with distinguished guests. Alongside the Book Fair, the 9th Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo and the 6th World of Snacks Fair were also held concurrently.
At the World of Art & Culture pavilion of the Hong Kong Book Fair, Myanmar Consulate General in Hong Kong showcased books on the nation’s fine arts of Myanmar lacquerware, informative books on Myanmar’s agricultural sector, investment promotion, Special Economic Zone Laws and Regulations, booklets of Myanmar consumer protection laws and regulations as well as brochures and pamphlets on tourism promotion, Myanmar’s traditional foods and festivals. Those pamphlets were also distributed free of charge to interested visitors.
