U Zeyar Myo Myint, Consul-General of Myanmar in Kunming, met with 28 Myanmar scholarship students pursuing their studies within the Consulate-General’s consular jurisdiction at the Consulate-General of Myanmar in Kunming on 17 October 2026. Myanmar scholarship students studying in Yunnan and Guizhou provinces attended the meeting in person, while students studying at universities in other cities participated online.
During the meeting, the Consul-General underscored the importance of complying with the laws and regulations of the host country and the rules and regulations of their respective universities, encouraged the students to conduct research in their respective fields of study that would contribute to Myanmar’s development, and emphasized the importance of applying the knowledge and expertise they had acquired to serve the interests of their country.
The students who attended the meeting then shared their academic experiences, circumstances and challenges in an open and cordial atmosphere. The Consul-General also discussed appropriate recommendations and coordinated necessary assistance in response to the matters raised by the students.
