Ms. Khaing Su Linn, Consul-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Nanning attended Opening Ceremony of China (Guangxi)-ASEAN Agricultural Standardization Exchange and Mutual Learning Workshop organized by Guangxi Institute of Standards and Technology of China, and China-ASEAN Standardization Cooperation and Exchange Center on 22-4-2025 in K International, Nanning. At the ceremony, Mr. Yang Jujun, Deputy-Director General of Administration for Market Regulation of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Mr. Taing Sokngorn, Consul-General of Cambodia, Mr. Vongpano Sipastuth, Consul-General of Laos and Ms. Khaing Su Linn, Consul-General of the Myanmar delivered opening addresses respectively. In her speech, Consul-General of Myanmar highlighted that for agriculture is the backbone of Myanmar's economy, achieving sustainable agricultural development, improving productivity, and ensuring food safety are the priorities, Myanmar government is implementing initiatives such as approving Law on standardization, composing National Standard Council, Committee and Technical Sub Committee, and establishing Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) Certification domestically, and internationally, Myanmar is actively cooperating with neighbouring and regional countries including China. She recalled that there have been establishing standardized agricultural demonstration zones, holding different forums and implementation of Memorandum of Understanding between ASEAN countries including Myanmar and China. She expressed her belief that Myanmar can learn from China’s and other ASEAN countries’ advances in GAP implementation and certification. (4) officials from Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation of Myanmar together with other officials from Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam participated in the workshop actively.
