Myanmar Ambassador meets with the officials of the Certificate of Identity (CI) Centers (15-7-2026, Bangkok)

​Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand H.E. U Zaw Zaw Soe, met with the responsible officials from the relevant ministries of the CI Centers, including Government Officers and Officers-in-Charge of the relevant company at 10:00 hrs. on 15 July 2026 at the Myanmar Embassy Meeting Room in Bangkok, to exchange views regarding a recently circulated video clip at social media concerning service fees collected at CI issuance centers, and to provide guidance and recommendations for further strengthening accountability and service delivery.
​During the discussion, representatives from the CI issuance centers reported that CI applications are processed in accordance with the procedures for the issuance of Certificates of Identity and official service fees are prominently displayed at all CI centers through posters to ensure transparency and public awareness. In addition, applicants are encouraged to report any unauthorized or excessive charges through the established compliant mechanisms, while awareness materials are continuously disseminated to educate applicants on the CI application process and the applicable service fees.
​At the meeting, the Ambassador underscored the importance of upholding integrity, professionalism, accountability as well as maintaining of political awareness and security concern in carrying out their duties, to work with relevant officials to succeed the implementation of the CI issuance process, to respect and comply with the laws of host country and carry out their work in accordance with rules and regulations. Ambassador also stressed the need to facilitate smooth and efficient services for CI applicants while preventing the spread of misinformation through transparent communication and responsible public engagement.
The meeting was attended by the Officials of the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok, the officials from Labour Attaché Office and responsible personnel from the CI Centers in Thailand.
