Meeting on “Initiative for ASEAN Integration-IAI Annual Review Meeting” held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Annual Review meeting on Initiative for ASEAN Integration-IAI regarding the Myanmar-Singapore Cooperation programme for 2025 has being conducted at the Sturingabala Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 23 March 2026, chaired by the Director General of the ASEAN Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Meeting was attended by representatives form concerned Ministries.

At the meeting, U Han Win Aung, Director General of the ASEAN Affairs Department, delivered opening remarks underscoring that the significance of the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI), a process designed to prioritize the development of CLMV-TL countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and Timor-Leste) to bridge the development gap within ASEAN and noted that Singapore remains a key donor for development aid and capacity building. Furthermore, the Director General encouraged ministries to review the strengths and weaknesses of the IAI courses conducted in 2025 and to propose more effective training programmes that align with their needs for 2026. Representatives from the Ministries also discussed the recommendations regarding the IAI training courses conducted in 2025 and proposed new training courses for 2026.
