H.E. U Zaw Zaw Soe, Ambassador of Myanmar, held discussions with General Kittipong Chuenjaichon, Deputy Chief of Joint Staff of the Royal Thai Armed Forces

Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Mr. Zaw Zaw Soe held discussions with General Kittipong Chuenjaichon, Deputy Chief of Joint Staff of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, at the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters in Bangkok on 23 February 2026, at 09:00 hrs, accompanied by the Myanmar Delegation comprising 30 officials from the concerned ministries who will participate in the Training Course on Forest Fire Prevention and Control.

During the discussions, General Kittipong Chuenjaichon, Deputy Chief of Joint Staff, extended a cordial welcome to the delegation led by the Myanmar Ambassador and conveyed the sincere hope that participation in the Programme would serve to further consolidate and expand the existing bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

In addition, the two sides cordially and closely discussed matters relating to further strengthening longstanding friendly relations between the two armed forces in line with the guidance of the Chiefs of Defence Forces of both countries, enhancing bilateral cooperation in addressing transboundary haze pollution and forest fire prevention along the border areas, promoting close collaboration and experience sharing between the two countries through Forest Fire Prevention and Control Training Programme, and exploring potential opportunities for mutually beneficial development in relevant sectors. Subsequently, one representative trainee delivered a comprehensive briefing on the Myanmar side’s national-level policies adopted to address transboundary haze pollution, the current status of their implementation, and ongoing international cooperation efforts, including those undertaken in collaboration with Thailand.
