Myanmar hosted the Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Senior Officials’ Meeting via video conference on 25 February 2026.
The Meeting was chaired by Daw Aye Thidar Myo, Director-General, International Organizations and Economic Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ACMECS SOM Leader for Myanmar, and was attended by SOM Leaders and representatives from ACMECS member countries, Chairs and Vice-Chairs of the ACMECS Coordinating Committees as well as representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant Ministries of Myanmar.
The Meeting reviewed the implementation of the ACMECS Master Plan (2019-2023), discussed the development of new Master Plan, and exchanged views on strengthening the role and capacity of ACMECS Interim Secretariat (AIS) and cooperation with Development Partners.
Myanmar is assuming the Chairmanship of ACMECS for the 2025-2026 term, and the 11th ACMECS Summit is scheduled to be held this year.
