The 329th Meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) was held at the Embassy of the Philippines on 21 April 2026. The Meeting was presented by H.E. U Kyaw Tun, Chargé d’ Affaires/ Ambassador of Myanmar to Japan, ASEAN Ambassadors, Representatives and ACT officials of the ASEAN Embassies.
During the meeting, ASEAN Ambassadors had a friendly and candid discussions on the Japan’s domestic development and regional development as well as the upcoming activities that will be organized by the ACT through the year.
The meeting was followed by the Lunch Talk between ASEAN Ambassadors and Dr. Reiko Hayashi, Director General of the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research (IPSS), Japan and Mr. Shingo Miyamoto, Director General of the Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. During the discussion, Dr. Reiko Hayashi, Mr. Shingo Miyamoto, and ASEAN Ambassadors exchanged views on Japan’s social security initiatives, and consular matters related to foreign nationals residing in Japan.
