On April 20, 2026, at 3 PM, H.E. U Aung Kyaw Zan, Ambassador of Myanmar to Brazil, warmly received H.E. Mr. Patrick John Uytiepo Hilado, Ambassador-designate of the Philippines to Brazil, at the Myanmar Embassy in Brasília.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both ambassadors to discuss enhancing bilateral relations and fostering collaboration among ASEAN embassies based in Brasília. They also exchanged views on strengthening the activities and cooperation of the ASEAN-Brasilia Committee, promoting mutual understanding and friendship, and improving cooperation and effective management between the Myanmar and Philippines Embassies.
H.E. Mr. Patrick John Uytiepo Hilado, together with the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines once again expressed sincere thanks to the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar for the pardon and deportation of 78 Filipinos on 17 April 2026, in commemoration of the Myanmar New Year and on humanitarian grounds.
