H.E. Mr. Ye Tint, Deputy-Minister of Information of Myanmar and Consul-General of Myanmar attends 2025 ASEAN Media Partners Cooperation Week

H.E. Mr. Ye Tint, Deputy-Minister of Information of Myanmar and Ms. Khaing Su Linn, Consul-General of the Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar attended 2025 ASEAN Media Partners Cooperation Week opening ceremony in Nanning on 9-9-25.

The opening ceremony was attended by over (200) participants including Mr. Fan Yun, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of China Media Group (CMG) and Editor-in-Chief of CGTN; Ms. Chen Yujun, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangxi Committee and Minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Guangxi Committee; MR. Kem Gunawadh, Seretary of State of Information of Cambodia; Dr. Dhanakorn Srisooksai, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Media Fund; and Consuls-General of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam residing in Nanning as chief guests.

While addressing opening remarks, Deputy Minister Mr. Ye Tint expressed his thanks for bringing Myanmar delegation to the event. He shared his view that the theme of the event “Openness, Culture, Shared Home” is very meaningful and important for relations between ASEAN member states and neighbouring and partner countries. He also mentioned that in today’s world, the media is not only a disseminator of news but also a bridge connecting nations, peoples and cultures; and the culture bond between Myanmar and China is unique and historic. He suggested cultural exchange among countries and peoples will help promote mutual understanding, friendship, respect, and unity among the peoples. Moreover, he encouraged that in today’s advanced digital age, media must be in unity for sharing accurate information, combating fake news, misinformation and disinformation, and enhancing social reciprocal understanding. Finally, he reiterated that Myanmar will work with all partners to access accurate and reliable information for the public and enhancing our values, shared narrative of peace and cooperation.

Afterwards, the Deputy- Minister and the Consul-General opened 2025 ASEAN Media Partners Cooperation Week opening ceremony and successive launching ceremonies on the stage.
