The Consulate General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Los Angeles participated in the 2026 ASEAN Day Celebration, which was jointly organized by the Consulates General of the ASEAN Member States in Los Angeles, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Thailand. The celebration was held at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Los Angeles on 8 August 2026.
During the event, the Honorable Adelio Angelito Soriano Cruz, Consul General of the Philippine delivered the welcoming remarks, followed by the ASEAN Anthem. The ASEAN Consulates-General presented cultural exhibition booths showcasing their respective traditional cuisines, gems, and fine handicrafts, accompanied by traditional cultural performances. The Consulate General Myanmar performed the Thingyan Dance and exhibited Myanmar’s traditional lacquerware, jade, gemstones, and textiles. The event was attended by ASEAN Consuls General, invited distinguished guests, members of the diplomatic corps and ASEAN community in Los Angeles.
