Consul-General U Ming Kyaw Linn of the Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar attended the opening ceremony of a workshop titled “Inclusive Education Training for the Benefit of Children with Special Needs Project” on January 21, 2026, at the Duangtawan Hotel in Chiang Mai, and delivered the opening speech. The workshop, sponsored by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency and conducted by Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, aims to promote the development of an inclusive education system for children with special needs and to strengthen the capacity of teachers from Myanmar’s basic education sector.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Chatree Maneekosol, President of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, along with deans, professors, and responsible officials from various faculties of the university, as well as 44 teachers from various schools and three administrative staff from Myanmar’s basic education sector. The Myanmar delegation was led by U Toe Kyaw, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Basic Education under the Ministry of Education of Myanmar.
The training program is part of a three-year initiative and consists of annual two-week training sessions in Thailand. Following the successful implementation of the first phase in 2025, the second phase will be conducted in Bangkok and Chiang Mai in 2026.
