Consul General U Kyaw Zay Yar Lin Attends and Delivers a Speech at the 2025 Chongqing International Travel Agent Conference

Consul General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Chongqing, U Kyaw Zay Yar Lin, attended and delivered a speech at the 2025 Chongqing International Travel Agent Conference, held on 5 November 2025 in Chongqing Municipality.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Zhao Shiqing, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of Chongqing Municipal People’s Congress, Mr. Josaia Rayawa, Deputy Chairman of the Fiji Tourism Board, U Kyaw Zay Yar Lin, Consul General of Myanmar in Chongqing, and Mr. Marcel Leizer, Deputy Director of the Department for International Development and Cooperation of UN Tourism, each delivered their respective opening remarks.

In his address, Consul General U Kyaw Zay Yar Lin emphasized the vital role of tourism in a country’s development, stating that tourism serves as a bridge connecting nations and people. He remarked that Chongqing, located at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers, is a truly magnificent city with mist-covered mountains, dazzling night views. He noted that many Myanmar tourists are deeply impressed by Chongqing’s natural beauty, warm hospitality, and spirit of innovation. He also extended an invitation to visit Myanmar, a land of golden pagodas, pristine beaches, and warm smiles, emphasizing that tourism represents not only about travel but also about connection, understanding, and friendship among peoples. He stated that in recent years, cooperation between Myanmar and Chongqing has continued to grow, and aimed at further enhancing closer relations, promoting mutual development, and deepening people-to-people exchanges between the two sides. He reaffirmed that Myanmar remains an open and promising destination for investment and partnership, and assured that the Consulate General of Myanmar in Chongqing stands ready to facilitate tourism and business cooperation between the two sides.

The conference was attended by senior officials from the Chongqing Municipal Government, Consuls General and representatives from various Consulates General in Chongqing and Chengdu, as well as representatives from travel agencies and other distinguished guests. The event also included discussions on visa services and study tour programs, further promoting collaboration in the tourism sector.
