The reception to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Armed Forces Day of Myanmar was co-hosted by the Embassy of Myanmar and the Office of the Military, Naval, and Air Attaché at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka on 30 March 2026.
The ceremony commenced with the playing of the national anthems of both countries. Following the anthems, Ambassador U Kyaw Soe Moe; the Military, Naval, and Air Attaché, Brigadier General Zaw Mann Phyo; and the Guest of Honor, Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mohmood Khan (BBP, OSP, GUP, nswc, psc) of the Bangladesh Air Force, delivered their respective remarks. This was followed by a commemorative cake-cutting ceremony. As a gesture of goodwill, the Ambassador and the Military, Naval, and Air Attaché presented souvenirs to the Guest of Honor.
The event was attended by over 180 invitees, including high-ranking officials from the Bangladesh Armed Forces and their spouses, the Foreign Secretary and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Dhaka-based Ambassadors and diplomats, Defence Attachés, representatives from international organizations, friends from the Buddhist community in Bangladesh, and Myanmar nationals residing in Dhaka.
The guests enjoyed a dinner featuring traditional Myanmar cuisine hosted by the Embassy and the Office of the Military, Naval, and Air Attaché.
