The Transforming Education Summit +4 on System Transformation and Resilience for SDG4 was held on 10 July 2026 at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France. A delegation led by U Kyaw Nyun Oo, Chargé d’Affaires/Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Permanent Delegation to UNESCO, attended the event. The Summit brought together the President of South Africa, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Education Ministers and Deputy Ministers from 37 countries, high-level representatives, and officials from UN agencies, international organizations and civil society groups, and youth representatives.
The event commenced with opening remarks delivered by Mr. Khaled El-Enany, Director-General of UNESCO, Ms. Amina J. Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa. Following the opening session, panel discussions on key thematic areas, including education in crisis situations, inclusive digital transformation, the teaching profession, environmental and climate change education, inclusion and gender equality, and skills, employability, and lifelong learning led by Education Ministers and Deputy Ministers from various countries were held.
The Summit served as a crucial platform gathering leaders, education ministers, and partners to review progress initiated since the United Nations Transforming Education Summit (TES) in 2022, and to accelerate actions toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) and beyond 2030.
