On 20 August 2025, Dr. Khin Thidar Aye, Charge d’Affaires a.i./ Ambassador of the Embassy of Myanmar received Mrs. Barbara Dietrich, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Diplomatic World Magazine and her team at the Embassy in Brussels. During the meeting, the Ambassador emphasized the purpose of Myanmar Mission in Brussels in strengthening diplomatic, cultural and commercial relations between Myanmar and European countries. Anchoring on the theme of sustainability, Myanmar and the European Union can bring benefits to the peoples from both sides. The Myanmar Mission in Brussels wishes to convey its messages through Diplomatic World, being a well-established global and neutral platform with strong connections among Belgian and EU policymakers. Initially, the Ambassador looks forward to contributing an Op-Ed on promoting trade between the EU and Myanmar, and, in due course, to participating in the magazine’s Q&A section. To introduce Myanmar’s cultural and artistic handicrafts to the European market, Ambassador also sought opportunities to work together through the Diplomatic World Institute, as well as the World Business Angels Forum (WBAF) and the Global Arts Forum led by Mrs. Barbara Dietrich. Founded in 2001, Diplomatic World is a quarterly magazine focusing on diplomacy in the fields of economy, trade, health, culture, and the arts. The publication is widely distributed to the Belgian Royalties, EU institutions, embassies and missions, research bodies, civil society, and business associations based in Brussels. Mrs. Barbara Dietrich received the European Women’s Leadership Award (EWILA) in 2024 in recognition of her leadership and the magazine’s success.
