Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to China attends ASEAN Day Celebration, Working Luncheon and ASEAN Committee in Beijing (ACB) Meeting (8-8-2025)

On 8 August 2025, Ambassador H.E. U Tin Maung Swe of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to People’s Republic of China participated in a Working Luncheon hosted by H.E. Mr. Chatchai Viriyavejakul, current ACB Chair and Ambassador of Thailand, held at The Great Hall 3, 2nd Floor, St. Regis Hotel. It was followed by the ASEAN Day Flag Raising and the Donation of Books by ASEAN Embassies to the Lifetree Library, held in commemoration of ASEAN Day at the Beijing International Club. Later, the Ambassador attended the ASEAN Committee in Beijing (ACB) Meeting, at the same venue. At the ACB meeting, the ASEAN Ambassadors and representatives approved the Summary Record of the previous ACB meeting held by the Embassy of Singapore on 14-3-2025. Afterwards, they exchanged views on the progress of ASEAN-China dialogue relations, the progress of the development of relations between relevant ASEAN countries and China, and regional developments. In commemoration of ASEAN Day, the Myanmar Embassy contributed to the Lifetree Library five contemporary Myanmar novels translated into Chinese, one Myanmar Investment Guidebook co-published by the Embassy and Beijing Psearcher Business Company Ltd., and a commemorative magazine marking the 75th anniversary of Myanmar-China diplomatic relations, published by the Chinese Embassy in Yangon. ASEAN Ambassadors based in Beijing, H.E. Mr. Shi Zhongjun, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre, and representatives from the Embassy of Timor-Leste attended the luncheon and subsequent events.
