41 Myanmar Seamen Repatriated from India (21-8-2025)

The 41 Myanmar seamen, totally verified as Myanmar nationals, departed from Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar, India, at 11:35 AM local time on 21 August 2025, under the Myanmar-India bilateral cooperation programme. They arrived at Netaji Subash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata, India, and subsequently departed at 19:00 PM local time from Kolkata to Yangon International Airport, Yangon, Myanmar, via Myanmar Airways International (MAI). In facilitating this repatriation process, the Embassy of Myanmar in New Delhi closely coordinated with not only the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India and the Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in Andaman & Nicobar Islands but also the Office of the Consulate-General in Kolkata. Additionally, necessary approvals were sought for the repatriation of Myanmar seamen, and Certificates of Identity (C of I) were issued as one-time travel documents for their return journey.
