U. Mang Hau Thang, Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Jakarta, met with Prof. Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej, the Vice Minister for Law of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, and his delegation on June 18, 2026.
During the meeting, as friendly fellow ASEAN member states, they held cordial, open, and constructive discussions on opportunities for bilateral cooperation in legal matters in accordance with international law, as well as matters related to the possible cooperation of the judicial aspects.
In addition, with a view to sustainable long-term bilateral relations, they openly exchanged views on international judicial matters, issues regarding legal interpretations, norms and general principles of law in the context of international law which effect in respective national laws of Myanmar and Indonesia and mutual cooperation concerning the Myanmar nationals.
