The nations of the world usually deport foreigners by lawful means if they pose a significant threats to the national interests of the respective countries, committed crimes or entered as illegal migrants. Similarly, under the prioritized policies of the new U.S. Administration, full-scale deportations of illegal aliens who violated immigration laws or committed crimes in the U.S. are being carried out. On this front, the Myanmar Government is cooperating with relevant U.S. federal entities in verifying and accepting deportees to Myanmar. Two deportees are scheduled to be sent by air on alternate days from the U.S. to Myanmar as the first batch of deportation. One of them arrived in Myanmar on 19 March 2025 and the another will arrive on 28 March 2025. They will be welcomed and provided the necessary assistance by the responsible officials in the meantime.
For citizens, this deportation sheds light on the importance of departing overseas only through legal channels and complying with the domestic laws of the receiving countries. It is by far the best option to stay in the homeland as law-abiding citizens.
