Permanent Representative of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to ASEAN, H.E. U Aung Myo Myint co-chaired the 24th Meeting of the ASEAN-China Joint Cooperation Committee (24th ASEAN-China JCC) together with H.E. Mrs. Hou Yanqi, Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of China to ASEAN, which was held on 17 March 2023 at the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta.
Members of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) and the Deputy Secretary-General for ASEAN-Political Security Community, H.E. Mr. Michael Tene attended the meeting. The Representative from the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Jakarta joined the meeting as an observer.
The development between ASEAN and China and deliberated on the priorities of Indonesia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, the development and the projects being formulated in the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI) Work Plan IV, the development in the areas of ASEAN Smart Cities Network and the Sustainable Development cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
During the meeting, the views on the Implementation of the ASEAN-China Plan of Action (2021-2025) and the Annex to the Plan of Action, follow-up to the outcomes of the ASEAN-China Special Summit and the 25th ASEAN-China Summit and the update on the ASEAN-China Year of Agricultural Development and Food Security Cooperation were also exchanged.
