H.E. U Aung Myo Myint, Permanent Representative of Myanmar to ASEAN, attended the 26th ASEAN-India Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting, the 5th ASEAN-United Kingdom Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting and the 14th ASEAN-Canada Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting held at the ASEAN Secretariat.
During the 26th ASEAN-India Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting held on 13 February 2026, both sides exchanged views on further advancing the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Discussions focused on continued collaboration under the Plan of Action (2026-2030) and the implementation of maritime cooperation initiatives scheduled for 2026, which has been designated as the ASEAN-India Year of Maritime Cooperation.
At the 5th ASEAN-United Kingdom Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting held on 4 March 2026, ASEAN and the UK reviewed the implementation of the ASEAN-UK Plan of Action (2022-2026). They also outlined activities to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the ASEAN-UK Dialogue Partnership throughout 2026, and identified potential areas to promote cooperation in accordance with the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.
Likewise, at the 14th ASEAN-Canada Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting held on 6 March 2026, the meeting commended the full implementation of the ASEAN-Canada Plan of Action (2021-2025) and looked forward to the adoption of the new Plan of Action (2026-2030) in the near future. Moreover, the participants further deliberated on matters of mutually beneficial cooperation, including the conclusion of the ASEAN-Canada Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA) negotiations by 2026 and the convening of the ASEAN-Canada Commemorative Summit to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dialogue Relations in 2027.
