The ceremony of conferring the 2025 religious title of SADDHAMMAJOTIKADAJA offered by the State Administration Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Ms. Ikuko Yoshida, President of Japan Theravāda Buddha Sasana Bhavana Group and Joh Shin An Dhamma Monastery in Hokota city, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan was held at the Joh Shin An Dhamma Monastery on 27 April 2025 (Sunday).
U Soe Han, Myanmar Ambassador to Japan and wife, staffs from the Myanmar Embassy, The Venerable Sayataw AGGAMAHAPANDITA BADDHANTA Nyannuthara, chief monk of Joh Shin An Dhamma Monastery, and Japanese Yogis from the monastery attended the ceremony.
The ceremony was commenced by reciting Namo Tassa three times. Then, Ambassador U Soe Han made congratulatory remarks and the aim of the ceremony for conferring the 2025 religious title to the recipient yogi. Afterwards, Ambassador U Soe Han and wife Daw Lei Lei War presented SADDHAMMAJOTIKADAJA title and insignia to Ms. Ikuko Yoshida.
Then, Ms. Ikuko Yoshida, President of Japan Theravāda Buddha Sasana Bhavana Group and Joh Shin An Dhamma Monastery made appreciation remarks on receiving the religious title.
The ceremony was successfully concluded by reciting “Buddha Sasanam ciram Titthatu” by all attendees. Ambassador U Soe Han and party offered meals to the Venerable Sayataw AGGAMAHAPANDITA BADDHANTA Nyannuthara, chief monk of Joh Shin An Dhamma Monastery, monks and Japanese Yogis from the monastery.
Ms. Ikuko Yoshida, from Joh Shin An Dhamma Monastery in Hokota city, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan was awarded the religious title of SADDHAMMAJOTIKADAJA by the State Administration Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on 4 January 2025 as she has been serving as the President of Japan Theravāda Buddha Sasana Bhavana Group, compiled and published 4 books on Buddha Dhamma during her 27 years of practicing Buddhism, building and renovating religious centers, involving in the charity and philanthropic activities, and her dedicated efforts in promoting and propagating Buddha Sasana in Japan.
