The 53rd Meeting of the ASEAN-Vienna Committee (AVC) and the Chairmanship Handover Ceremony were held on 8 July 2025 at the Vienna International Center, Austria. At the meeting, the current Chair of the AVC, the Embassy and Permanent Mission of the Lao PDR, briefed on the committee’s activities from January to June 2025.
Afterward, on behalf of the Ambassador who had recently completed the tour of duty in Vienna, the Chargé d' Affaires of the Embassy of Lao PDR handed over the duty of ASEAN-Vienna Committee Chairmanship to Myanmar Ambassador U Min Thein for the period of July- December 2025. The committee discussed and adopted the proposed programme of activities for the upcoming six-month term, as presented by the Myanmar Ambassador in his capacity as the new AVC chair.
