Myanmar delegation led by U Aung Myo Myint, Permanent Representative of Myanmar to ASEAN in Jakarta represented the SOM Leader of Myanmar at the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) and 16th Meeting of the ASEAN Coordinating Council Working Group (ACCWG) on Timor-Leste’s Membership in ASEAN which were held on 8 May 2023 in the Golo Mori Convention Hall near the Labuan Bajo town, East Nusa Tenngra, Indonesia on the sidelines of the 42nd ASEAN Summit.
The Senior Officials’ Meeting was chaired by H.E. Sidharto Reza Suryodipuro, SOM Leader of Indonesia and attended by the SOM Leaders and representatives from ASEAN Member States as well as ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General and representatives from ASEAN Secretariat. Delegation from Timor-Leste also joined the meeting as observer.
The meeting discussed the priorities of Indonesia’s ASEAN Chairmanship and matters related to the application to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in South East Asia (TAC) and ASEAN’s external relations, preparation for the 42nd ASEAN Summit and related meetings and other matters.
Myanmar Permanent Representative and delegation also participated in the Meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) which was held on 7 May 2023.
