The Myanmar delegation led by Daw Ei Ei Tin Chargé d’Affaires a.i/ Ambassador of the Embassy of Myanmar in Manila, attended the 44th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting and Related Meetings, held from 5 to 8 October 2026 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Manila, the Philippines.
The meetings included the 44th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting, the 5th ASEAN–United States Ministers on Energy Meeting, the 20th East Asia Summit Energy Ministers Meeting, and the 23rd ASEAN Plus Three Ministers on Energy Meeting. The meetings were chaired by Her Excellency Sharon S. Garin, Secretary of Energy of the Philippines, with His Excellency Dr. Tan See Leng, Minister for Energy, Trade and Industry of Singapore, serving as Vice-Chair. Participants included energy ministers from ASEAN Member States and East Asia Summit participating countries; Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN; the Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Energy; His Excellency Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for the ASEAN Economic Community; and other delegates.
During the meetings, participants exchanged views on the implementation of the 2026 economic priority deliverables and annual priority programmes; the ASEAN Power Grid and regional energy connectivity; the ASEAN energy outlook and regional energy planning; measures to enhance regional energy security and resilience; and ways to strengthen cooperation with Dialogue Partners and international organisations.
