On September 18, 2025, at 3:30 PM, Mr. Aung Aung Myo Thein, Consul-General of the Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Kolkata, together with the Economic Attaché, participated as a guest and panelist in the opening ceremony of the 3rd Indo-Pacific Economic Conclave and Special Session II. The event was jointly organized by The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCC&I) and the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, at the BCC&I building in Kolkata, West Bengal, Republic of India.
The discussion was also attended by Mr. Shri A. Ajay Kumar, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India; Mr. Shri Rajesh Pandey, Additional Chief Secretary of the Government of West Bengal; H.E. Dato’ Muzafar Shah Mustafa, High Commissioner of Malaysia to India; Ambassador Indra Mani Pandey, Secretary General of BIMSTEC; former Indian Ambassador Mr. Manjeev Singh Puri; along with other invited guests and media representatives.
The two-day conclave featured discussions led by Indian government officials, international diplomats, representatives from international chambers of commerce and industry, special invitees, and subject experts. The sessions addressed the development status of the Indo-Pacific region, issues related to maritime partnerships, and opportunities for cooperation among regional countries, organized under relevant thematic categories.
