Myanmar Ambassador to Nepal attends Russia National Day (Russia Day) and Convocation of Kathmandu University (14-6-2025)

His Excellency U Myo Myint Maung, Myanmar Ambassador to Nepal, attended Russia National Day (Russia Day) hosted by the Russian Embassy in Kathmandu. The reception was held at Dusit Princess Kathmandu Hotel at 1800 pm on June 10, 2025. Myanmar Ambassador friendly discussed bilateral relations and updated on the current situation in Myanmar. Ambassador also outlined the upcoming General Election in Myanmar with the diplomats and representatives of the International Organizations at the reception. 
 Russia National Day originated from the “Declaration of State Sovereignty of Russia” from the Soviet Union on June 12, 1990. After the official dissolution of Soviet Union in 1991, Russia Federation emerged as an independent country. The ceremony is officially termed as “Russia Day” since 2002, and celebrated as the National Day of Russia. Equally symbolic as Independence Day, Russia Day symbolizes the birth of modern, post-Soviet Russia; the beginning of democratic reforms; and a symbol of national pride and unity.
 Ambassador also attended the 30th Convocation ceremony (Second Phase) of Kathmandu University at 1100 am on June 13, 2025. The ceremony was chaired by Rt. Honorable Mr. KP Sharma Oli, Prime Minister of Nepal and Chancellor of Kathmandu University. Kathmandu University is established in 1991, under the Act of Parliament of Nepal. It is Nepal’s third oldest autonomous public university which is a self-funded and non-profit institution prioritizing quality education and leadership upholding the motto: “Quality Education for Leadership”.
 Kathmandu University began with intermediate-level programmes in 1992,and expanded its comprehensive academic programmes comprising seven schools covering Arts, Education, Engineering, Law, Management, Medical Sciences and Science. In recent years, Kathmandu University has been actively promoting research and innovation areas such as renewable energy, public health, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence.
