H.E. Mr. Wai Linn, Ambassador of Myanmar to Vietnam paid a joint courtesy call on H.E. Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee and President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, along with the Heads of Missions of ASEAN Embassies based in Hanoi at the Presidential Office on 4 August 2026.
During the call, H.E. Mr. To Lam emphasized the historic achievements of ASEAN over the past 59 years and encouraged to overcome the various challenges with political trust, solidarity and resilience, to promote economic and trade cooperation among the ASEAN member countries and to strengthen ASEAN centrality and cooperation to promote peace and stability in the region, while Ambassador of the Philippines, on behalf of the Ambassadors of ASEAN missions, extended congratulations and best wishes for the further success to the General Secretary and the President as well as shared their continued commitments to enhance the bilateral ties and ASEAN cooperation.
