On 25 March 2026, Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Aggamaha Saddhammajotikadhaja Thanlyin Minkyaung Monastery Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa paid a courtesy call on His Holiness Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatanana at Wat Ratchabophit Sathit Maha Simaram.
Accompanying Sayadaw were Phra Sophon Nonthasar, Abbot of Wat Ban Pai, along with a delegation from the Embassy of Myanmar in Bangkok led by Ambassador Daw Cho Cho Soe.
During the meeting, Sayadaw expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to pay respects to His Holiness. He conveyed his condolences on the passing of the Late Queen Mother of Thailand, and extended his prayers for the strengthening of friendship between the Sangha and peoples of Myanmar and Thailand, as well as for the long life and good health of His Holiness.
In response, His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch warmly welcomed the delegation and emphasized the strong and longstanding friendship between Thailand and Myanmar. He further expressed his goodwill towards the Sangha and people of Myanmar, and offered prayers for their well-being, prosperity, and happiness.
