At the invitation of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism, Consul General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Chongqing, U Kyaw Zay Yar Lin, attended the opening ceremony of the 29th Chongqing Urban Culture and Tourism Season and Inter-City Tourism Trade Fair, held on 23 April 2026 at Westin Chongqing Jiefangbei Hotel.
The opening ceremony was attended by senior official from the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism, representatives of the Yuzhong District People’s Government, and Consuls-General from various foreign consulates based in Chongqing.
The Fair is organized under the guidance of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism and the Yuzhong District People’s Government, and hosted by the Chongqing Culture and Tourism Development Association. Having been held consecutively for 28 years, it has become one of the largest, most well-established, and most influential cultural and tourism exhibitions in western China.
The event featured a diverse range of cultural and tourism-related products from international participants as well as major cities across China. The Consulate-General of Myanmar in Chongqing also participated in the exhibition, showcasing traditional Myanmar handicrafts and authentic Myanmar cuisine, thereby promoting Myanmar’s rich cultural heritage and tourism sector.
