U Zeyar Myo Myint, Consul-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Kunming, attended the Seventh Myanmar–China Think Tank Forum held on 21 October 2026 in Mangshi, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province, People’s Republic of China. The Forum was held under the theme “Strengthening China–Myanmar Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture: Promoting the Building of a China–Myanmar Community with a Shared Future.”
The Consul-General participated in the China–Myanmar Dialogue on Cooperation in Agriculture, where he discussed the importance of the agricultural sector, Myanmar’s Pawsan rice winning the 2026 World’s Best Rice Award, and the market potential of Myanmar’s rice and coffee. He also highlighted opportunities for further bilateral cooperation in expanding Myanmar’s agricultural exports to the Chinese market, promoting trade and investment, developing value-added agricultural products, and facilitating technology exchange.
Representatives from relevant departments, research institutions, experts and business communities of both countries attended the Forum and exchanged views on enhancing agricultural cooperation, expanding trade and investment opportunities, and promoting ecosystem and environmental protection.
