Daw Khaing Su Linn, Consul General of the Myanmar Consulate-General in Nanning, met with Mr. Wei Ran, Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, at the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangxi Autonomous Region at 10:00 AM on May 8, 2026.
During the meeting, the Consul General briefed the Government's main objectives and basic policies, the future work programs to be implemented following the formation of the Myanmar new elected government, the invitation for national reconciliation and peace, and the efforts to be made for the development of the State. In response, Mr. Wei Ran, Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, stated that he welcomed the future policies and work programs of the new Myanmar government, and that the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region stands ready to cooperate with Myanmar.
Furthermore, the Consul General engaged in cordial and open discussions regarding the possibility of holding economic and investment promotion events between the Guangxi region and Myanmar, increasing the provision of scholarships, establishing sister-city relations, and matters related to the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO).
