Daw Khaing Su Linn, Consul General of the Myanmar Consulate-General in Nanning, met with Mr. Wei Ran, Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, at the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangxi Autonomous Region at 9:30 AM on August 13, 2026.
During the meeting, the Consul General discussed matters regarding the Myanmar delegation’s attendance at the upcoming 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS), which will be held in Nanning in September 2026. She also discussed economic and trade cooperation between Myanmar and the Guangxi Region, cultural exchange programs, the provision of scholarships in the education sector, and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI).
In response, Director General Mr. Wei Ran warmly welcomed the Myanmar delegation attending the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS). He stated that the Guangxi Region will continue to enhance strategic cooperation with Myanmar and stands ready to expand economic investments and foster closer ties in the cultural and educational sectors. Furthermore, he expressed that sharing experiences and collaborating in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and innovation sectors will serve as a new driving force for bilateral relations and bring significant benefits to the people of both countries.
