The Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Ottawa commenced the first day of advance voting for the 2025 Multi-Party Democracy General Election on 5 December 2025 (Friday), from 0930 hrs to 1630 hrs. The Chargé d’Affaires a.i./ Ambassador U Zaw Tun Oo, supervised the voting arrangements as the Head of Mission, ensuring that the procedures were carried out smoothly at the designated polling station within the Embassy premises.
Embassy staff assisted eligible voters by verifying their identities, issuing ballot papers, and providing necessary guidance throughout the voting process. They also facilitated other administrative requirements to ensure that advance voting was conducted in an orderly and systematic manner.
The Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Ottawa will continue to conduct advance voting for overseas Myanmar citizens on 6 December 2025.
