The Consulate General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region participated in the Asian Ethnic Cultural Performances of the Asia+ Festival 2025 by showcasing a couple of “Shan” traditional dresses with the support from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, which was held in Hong Kong Culture Centre from 16 to 23 November 2025.
Opening ceremony of the Asian Ethnic Cultural Performances was held on 16 November 2025 followed by the remarks of H.E. Ms. Rosanna Law, Secretary of the Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hong Kong SAR and group photo with the respective guests, Consuls General and representatives from the participating countries in the event including Myanmar Consul General. Then, the Secretary and guests enjoyed the cultural performances and visited the showcase of traditional costumes.
The Asia+ Festival is held annually from September to November with the aim to create a sustainable platform for arts and cultural exchange of Asia and the ‘Belt and Road’ regions as well as to strengthen the connection with Hong Kong SAR. As a major event of the Asia+ Festival 2025, this year’s Asian Ethnic Cultural Performances showcases traditional costumes from over 20 Asian and Belt and Road countries and regions.
